Century old family photographs adorn the main drawing room while each of the 8 suites are designed to reference a period of the families’ journey – their Jodhpur royal heritage, their life long association with horses, time spent in colonial Calcutta, and their life of tea plantations in Assam.  All the suites are twice the size of a luxury hotel room and are thoughtfully appointed and decorated using the finest of locally sourced materials and furnishings. Each has a private balcony or access to an enormous terrace.  Floor to ceiling picture windows allow natural light to flood the rooms while framing the expansive vistas of the famous Shivji Statue, the towns below, and agricultural hamlets.

Gardens terraced into the hillside spill with fuchsia bougainvillea.  Manicured lawns are surrounded by an abundance of native trees and succulents and offer many private corners to escape to with a drink or a book.  An infinity pool teeters on the edge of the cliff face surrounded by unspoiled jungle, and has views to the ancient Aravalli ranges on the horizon.

The Hill House is easily accessible from Udaipur and is an ideal location for those who want a peaceful and tranquil respite.  Those who want a more active itinerary can take advantage of local forest safaris or nature walks.  The spiritually historical town of Nathdwara is a 5 minute drive away.  However you plan to spend your day at the property, you can look forward to enjoying deliciously prepared meals featuring local, organically sourced ingredients. The property is run by the family, who are in residence, ensuring the utmost attention to detail and a high level of personalized service.
